Preparation to IELTS B2-C1

INFORMATION GÉNÉRALE

Course outline

Our IELTS preparation course is designed to give you insight into ways to approach the exam confidently.

It includes:

  • 2 hours/week of classroom course

Delivered by a native English teacher, this in-depth analysis of the IELTS exam focuses on the skills and techniques required to sit for the test. It will help you familiarize with the Academic English test format and acquire not only test-taking strategies but skills reaching far beyond the scope of the test. The focus will be on improving writing skills which students typically find more difficult.

  • 60 to 100 hours of online preparation using the British Council's official online platforme “ ROAD to IELTS”.

You will get:

- Tips and advice to improve your test performance
- Online resource material, practice zones and e-book to help you prepare for the 4 skills.
- Sample videos and teacher tutorials that highlights test dos and don’ts.
- Timed practice tests and instant performance feedback to help track your personal progress.

 

Ressources

All material will be supplied during classes and available on Moodle. Various websites, news sources and documents will be used in the class.

 

Évaluation

Attestation d'assiduité : 80% de présence ainsi qu'une participation active au cours sont requis.

Ce cours n'octroie pas d'attestation de réussite ni de crédit ECTS.

Calendrier

Semestre de printemps 2023 :

  • 20 février - 24 février 2023 : 1 semaine d'accueil et d'orientation :
  • 27 février - 19 mai 2023 : 11 semaines de cours* 

*Pas de cours du 7 au 14 avril, 1er mai et 18 mai. Rattrapage potentiel des cours du 22 au 26 mai.

Inscriptions

Inscriptions en ligne pour le semestre de printemps : du 15 juin 2022 au 26 février 2023 en fonction des places disponibles.

 

Tarifs*

  • Tarif UNIGE (étudiant-es réguliers/ères, étudiant-es d'échange) : CHF 280.- pour un semestre ou CHF 520.- pour l'année académique
  • Tarif PAT/PENS (personnel administratif et technique, personnel enseignant) : CHF 380.- pour un semestre ou CHF 700.- pour l'année académique
  • Tarif Alumni (membres actifs de l'association Alumni UNIGE) : CHF 420.- pour un semestre ou CHF 780.- pour l'année académique
  • Tarif FCO (apprenant-es Formation Continue) : CHF 420.- pour un semestre ou CHF 780.- pour l'année académique

*L'accès à la plateforme Road to IELTS est inclus dans les frais d'inscription.
