Certificats de français langue étrangère
Students who have regularly attended at least one session of French language courses (in the current year), as well as members of the University community (UNIGE, HES-SO Geneva, IHEID, HUG) can register for an exam to obtain a language certificate:
- Certificat de français langue étrangère A2/B1
- Certificat de français langue étrangère B2/C1
Successful candidates will receive a language certificate within four weeks, certifying their proficiencylevel in French: A2, B1, B2 or C1.
Passing the Certificate de français langue étrangère B2 or C1 exempts students from the French admission exam at the University of Geneva (the Faculty of Arts requires an additional test).
- Registration for the examination is only open to participants of the current year's Summer School, as well as the members of the University community.
- Students who have failed the preparatory year offered by the ELCF cannot register for the Certificat de français langue étrangère B2-C1.
- Cancellations and refunds are possible before the 27 July 2025.
- All requests for cancellation must be sent by e-mail to cefle(at)unige.ch
- In the case of a refund, an administration fee of CHF 20.00 will be deducted.
- In case of cancellation for administrative or medical reasons (no visa, border closure, flight cancellation, quarantine, illness) and upon presentation of supporting evidence, reimbursement after the deadline is possible with a CHF 20.00 administration fee.
