French | CERTIFICATE

Members of the university community* and individuals who have taken a French course at the MdL during the year may register for an examination leading to a language certificate:

 A2-B1 level 

B2-C1 level

If successful, you will receive a language certificate (within four weeks), attesting to your level of French: A2, B1, B2, or C1.

Passing the B2 or C1 Certificate of French as a Foreign Language exempts candidates from the French admission exam at the University of Geneva (except for the Faculty of Humanities which requires an additional test).

Students who failed the propedeutic (foundation) year offered by the ELCF may not register for the B2–C1 Certificate of French as a Foreign Language.

* Includes HEPIA, HEAD, HEdS, HEG, HEM, HETS, IHEID, HUG, Alumni, Continuing Education, and Uni3.
